This project involved the development of a custom PHP automation tool for a doctoral research project, designed to automate data extraction from the ASF Alaska Satellite Facility platform. Instead of manually selecting locations on the map and exporting results one by one, the application processes a batch of geographic coordinates and automatically retrieves the required data from the available web interface and search workflow. ASF provides access to SAR and remote sensing data used by researchers worldwide.
The extracted information is then organized into structured Excel reports, allowing researchers to work with clean, consistent datasets without spending hours on repetitive manual operations.
The primary objective of this project was to eliminate repetitive tasks, reduce processing time, improve data accuracy, and simplify large-scale data collection. By automating the entire workflow, the application significantly increased productivity and enabled researchers to process large datasets with minimal manual intervention.
